Dragonfly Designs

We are looking for some talented, dedicated and artsy individuals with a love of kids and teaching to join our Art Education team in the Bay Area.


Who we are?:

Dragonfly Designs-

We are a small family owned & operated local business serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 2005. We want children to express their creativity & have fun in our classes, birthday parties & camps.

We aim to promote a healthy, organic, artistic, creative, DIY lifestyle and take a “whole child” approach to education. We include an hour of Yoga in our full day Jewelry Making & Art Exploration camps to encourage mindfulness & movement.

We feel development of creativity through the arts is crucial to healthy child development. We give the time and space needed to allow creativity & tactile engagement with art.

In addition to teaching our programs in English, we teach our Art & Jewelry camps & classes in Mandarin & Spanish – We believe in expanded worldviews – travel & exposing children to different ways to think about the world and to appreciate diversity & cultural differences.

Positions Available:

Yoga Instructor: We include an hour of Yoga in our full day Jewelry Making & Art Exploration camps to encourage mindfulness & movement. We are looking for an experienced children’s Yoga Instructor to assist in our morning camps & after-school classes. You must be a certified yoga instructor with experience teaching yoga to kids!

Studio Manager: Studio Manager Position must have project management & people management experience + the ability to manage the many moving parts of an active artist’s studio with maturity, independence, thoughtful consideration. You will be assembling and creating projects every week as well as organizing fellow teachers and the art studio. You will also be in charge of researching and then teaching different art projects to the other counselors and teachers. Some past projects: homemade bath bombs, homemade scented candles, copper etched jewelry, suminagashi painting, pinch clay pots, homemade bird feeders!

-Birthday Party Host: Every weekend we bring jewelry making birthday parties to kids around the Bay Area. Your job as part of our host team will be traveling to various locations around the Bay Area, setting up the crafting and teaching materials needed for jewelry designing before guests arrive, helping the party-goers( ages 6-13) create their very own designs, assisting with party needs such as cotton candy making and packing up the materials we brought.

-Art, Jewelry, Textiles Instructors: Do you enjoy working with kids and teens? Are you passionate about jewelry making & art? Are you enthusiastic, creative, punctual and positive? Are you looking for part-time, flexible hours? We offer various after school programs throughout the Bay Area to elementary aged children. You would be in charge of setting up the projects for the class and then teaching the project to students in a way that they can follow. These are after school programs for kids 6-13 so you will be primarily working mornings in the studio, to set up your supplies for your projects, and then afternoons with about an hour of class time. We do teach at language immersion schools so if you speak Mandarin or Spanish that’s a plus! Examples of what classes we teach:

-Jewelry Making- (must have experience with jewelry making)

-Capoeira

-Hip-Hop

-Photography

-Textiles & Fiber Arts

-Mixed Media Art Exploration

We like to tailor our classes to our teachers strengths and passions so let us know if you have an idea for an after school program or if any of these interest you!

-Camp Counselors: You will be part of our Camp team that teaches art education through Spring, Winter & Summer Art & Jewelry Making Camps, offered during school breaks. Our camp is for children ages 6-13 and runs from 9AM-5PM. Throughout each day campers will learn how to craft at least 3 different art and jewelry projects. You must be somewhat artistic in order to help teach and assist kids with their projects, don’t worry we will teach you the projects! We need people who have patience, are crafty and have experience leading and teaching children. If you are bilingual, we do offer camps in Mandarin and Spanish as well!



ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE THESE SKILLS:

-Customer-service oriented with positive energy, creativity and excellent communication skills.

-College degree preferred (preferably with emphasis in the arts, early childhood education, language)

-Experience with and enthusiasm for working with kids, teens and adults ages 4+

-Experience providing instruction, especially to groups of children/teens

-Responsible, punctual, dedicated, enthusiastic and organized

-Must have own transportation, CA driver’s license, and minimum insurance for property damage and public liability required by California law
